The Modern Whigs are the party where methodology trumps ideology and integrity trumps impunity. 

Our core philosophy relies on two fundamental principles:

MERITOCRACY is the foundation of the Whig methodology: we believe that society should reward merit, which is a combination of intelligence, talent, dedication, competence, experience, hard work, and education.  Merit is determined through an objective evaluation of an individual’s professional accomplishments, educational achievements and personal character.  Similarly, solutions to problems should be judged in a rational manner based on evidence or, if none exists, based on the scientific method of experimentation.

INTEGRITY, meaning honesty and a commitment to an ethical approach to politics, is the second pillar of Whig philosophy.  Whigs practice what they preach, live up to their promises and do not make promises they cannot keep. Integrity also means accountability: no one is above the law and everyone lives by the same rules. 

As firm believers in Meritocracy and Integrity, Whigs vigorously oppose all form of favoritism and discrimination.  We are against cronyism, nepotism and prejudice, as well as ideological or religious extremism. Whigs have zero tolerance for hypocrisy, dishonesty and corruption. 

Whigs are neither Conservative nor Liberal and do not wish to be confined to the traditional left-right political spectrum.
